I have decided to direct my first ‘blog’, first ever in fact to a topic I know very much about, that’s TV! Recently, in fact, over the length of just a week I’ve slowly been gathering that detective/crime programmes are taking over, we have, A Touch Of Frost, Lewis, Without A Trace, Missing and many more over the channels, BBC1, BBC2, ITV3 and C4. Surely for a nation full of reality TV lovers and a generation which is young and upbeat, this kind of Television is NOT what we wish to see?
Over the last few years we’ve seen an increase of reality TV with producers telling the public ‘What you want, we’ll give’ as an excuse of shunting more out there, yet, all of a sudden we’ve had a rush of drama’s, crime and detective programmes which is surely, a complete oppisite to the kind of TV I, amongst many other enjoy watching on the box!
Also, what I haven’t mentioned is the fact that there is so much room for these kind of programmes on channels such as MORE4 and other such channels directed to an ‘older’ living audience. Why should the majority of young adults/teenagers have to suffer by watching this, in my opinion dreadfully dull and bland programmes! I say, hit back with the influx of spin-offs for Big Brother, hit back the endless time these reality TV shows and I most importantly would like to say, hit back with some DECENT TELEVISION FOR THE LICENSE PAYERS!
