I agree with Michael Goodwin completely that the “No Child Left Behind Act”, which was initially created to help students who fall behind in their studies succeed in academia, has unconsciously crippled lots of high school students entering college because they have gained a false sense of security. Although I agree with Michael Goodwin on the subject of the “No Child Left Behind Act”, I don’t believe the act is the sole culprit. The deterioration of these pupils can also be attributed to their teachers and the institutions that they attend. The students that have been affected aren’t ready for the tough social realities of the next level nor have they been adequately prepared for the rigorous courses that await them.

Ironically, I know an array of people (i.e. athletes and regular students) who are currently dealing with the affects of the “crippling process”. As an All-State athlete, I believe the athletes have been crippled the most in every side of the spectrum. I say this because they are afforded additional privileges that regular students can’t imagine. For example, two star basketball players on academic probation, with F’s in various classes, were allowed to participate in the State Playoffs. These same two players were also allowed to graduate in order to acquire athletic scholarships.

This is an instance where one could not blame the “No Child Left Behind” act, but is the perfect example of when to blame teachers, coaches, and administrators for allowing this ridiculous feat to occur. It is instances like this one that turns “student athletes” into prima donnas and encourages “student athletes” to totally disregard academics to excel in their athletic ventures. It is instances like this one that facilitate a false sense of security that misleads an athlete to believe that he/she will be able to get away with the same stuff in college. It is in instances like this where the students freedom to fail should be exercised completely.

My boy freind and i just got back together after a year. im only 17 and hes 18. we got seperated after getting in trouble. but anyways i love him to death and i wish to get married to him. but a few weeks ago before we got back together i had unprotected sex. i have a feeling i may be pregnant. this coming week will be ther formy period so ill have to go from there. but im experiencing the early signs. i dont know what to do . if im pregnant how am i going to tell him?? hi dont want him to dump me… help me..

So, I used to use this way back when there was only me and Ryan using it. He’d be the only one reading my blogs so now we’ve picked up and i’m back and ready to start blogging again. In the past year i’ve gotten a job as a waitress, worked at the football ground, passed my gcse’s, almost passed my AS levels but we’ll come onto that later.

So Tuesday was the first day of term back at college and now i’m in my second year doing A2 in ICT, English and Sociology. I passed all of them with BCC but I got an E in AS Spanish and i’m debating whether or not to get that remarked. Oh crap, I have to go and ask my teacher about that “/

I swear I am never in college nowadays, so much free time! But it will come to use nearer the exams and stuff to help with revision! Did I mention I was ONE mark away from a D in Spanish and 2 marks away from a B in ICT? So gutted about that, really am.

So uhum, I don’t know what else to write. I’ve had a brilliant few months over summer, so much has happened! I can’t be bothered going into details really, just briefly saying my life is utterly brilliant at the moment.

I have a cut on my lip, i dont know where that came from but hey, its hurting and it’s annoying. Im waiting for the Jonas Brothers to announce their Europe tour dates, I hope they come to Manchester or nearer to my home. ;[ I love the Jonas Brothers, they are utterly amazing and so inspiring, I LOVE THEM. I want to go to Florida too to the Harry Potter world, it looks AMAZING.

Anyway, i’m gonna head off blogging now, i’ll be around when something cool happens! Have fun xxx

Wednesday: Back at college!

Nothing to be excited about the ” ! ” but i was back at college yesterday morning at 8.00. I must add to this that in the morning it dragged but in the afternoon it was quicker than i thought, but still i don’t like college what so ever so i thought to myself ‘why can’t we stay at home and go back on Monday like every other school does whats the point in being stuck in college when there is only Thursday and Friday left.’ So i stopped ranting on and got on with it all. However, i didn’t expect alot of new people to arrive at the college because i pleasenty surprised as i thought the older ones would go to another college as this one that i am in now is currently a main stream college at the moment.

So… tomorrow (Friday) is the last day of the week by the weekend woohoo! And then it starts all over again on Monday morning, anyway i hope you’ve enjoyed reading my first blog post and i’ll see you all soon

In this how to I am going to teach you how to clear your DNS cache on a Windows system. Screen shots in this post have been taken from a mixture of XP/Vista systems however, they shouldn’t vary from other Windows systems.

1.) Open your command line and run it with administrators permissions and allow any requests to continue.

2.) The cache has been flushed. You can now close the command line. You will need to restart your browser before any changes are reflected.
